You typically hear from us about fundraising for our sports teams, which have played a significant role in our high school experience. This year, however, we are excited to shift our focus to something more meaningful: making a difference for those battling cancer in our community and beyond.

We have been challenged to be candidate leaders for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Gold Coast Student Visionaries of the Year campaign. We have accepted the challenge and are excited to work together on something meaningful and helpful to our community. We know we can’t do it alone, so we formed a team of committed friends from other high schools to help us in our efforts. Together, we aim to raise awareness and create positive change while working with other student leaders with the same passion and mindset to make a small difference in our community.

This 7-week leadership program, running from February 6 to March 28, focuses on supporting LLS’s mission to combat all forms of cancer and improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

Our team name is #BOLDBELIEVERS, because we are a team that is BOLD, passionate, and BELIEVE we can make a difference. We have set an ambitious fundraising goal of $50,000, focusing on patient support as our key pillar. We know this is a lofty goal for a bunch of kids, but we believe in the strength of our incredible community and the support of friends and family to help us achieve this goal.

Our mission is to create a meaningful impact through hope, empathy, and relief for those battling cancer. We believe that with your support, we can contribute to LLS’s vital work, helping to ensure that no one will face this disease alone. Many of us have been affected by cancer in some way, and we understand the challenges it brings. Our campaign strives to provide relief and raise awareness through our efforts.
